Well, ATM AMD is on top of intel in terms of desktop processing, but in terms of servers, INTEL still owns. I am an nVidia FAN so ATI can SUCK MY BALLS!

Well Naut obviously does not know much about amd servers then (well look, he's greek - do have pc's there?)
AMD - ATI - The only good thing about nVidia is their nForce chip sets.
Go and do some reserch about amd opterons dude. 8 way cpu's hmmmm - that's why sun uses amd and not intel

Not to argue with you, all I will say is Itanium II rapes dual core OpterSHIT. But not to bam AMD in the ass it is just the following that one needs to keep in mind, Intel has marketed their server side much better than AMD, hence more development has been done. However, AMD has a lot to learn in terms of server processing but IMHO will get there eventually but ATM they are not at the same level as intel server processing. How do I know this, just look at the paperbacks on each processor ALONE. If you need me to go more technical into this lemme know.

I do not think ATI is a bad card, but at the end of the day, putting the top end cards from both companies will result FRAME wise in very little difference. At the end of the day it comes to personal preference and I enjoy the image quality and rendering of nVidia more to that of ATI. I also feel that nVidia comes across as a more stable card.
Just for the record, I still think Intel is better than AMD.
And Divexo... surrup you PLANK :P :P

ATI not a stable card. Maybe you should start @ the begining (University I mean). hmmm, what do the teach there these days.
Hmm, lemme test out some of the formatting in this WYSIWYG editor...

I think u are wrong dude. Look in the server market only the Itaniums come close to the opterons. To make a statement like Itanium rapes AMD opteron is idiotic in the extreme. Have you seen the AMD CPU architechture. Don't believe everything your professors tell u. AMD opterons in any configuration comapre very faverably to Itaniums

This war is SO stupid...I'ts like saying what is better , short socks or long....Face it both cards rock
I'm not warring... I just posted big INTEL and NVIDIA texts... I can't see that I said anything about AMD or ATI there. People just jump to conclusions :P.
It is possible to like something without hating something else ;).
I don't mind AMD so much anymore, but that won't stop me from throwing in my Intel 2c :D.
If anything, the AMD & ATI guys need to lighten up a bit ;)

First off that is the Itanium I not the Itanium II as it has only been released RECENTLY and if you are thinking about the OLD spec Itanium II WTF Itanium is now at 2.4Ghz, AND AMD HAS THE NERVE to compare it to a 900MHZ processor... sorry for you but the new one is a revised version with 64bit capabilities! Secondly, I do believe everything my professors tell me as they are the best in their fields or else they would not be engineers that lecture. I also would like to think that through the knowledge that has been passed to me from my studies allows me to make an accurate decision in which components are better. Lets look at it:
Intel behind most transistor cluster configurations has zener diodes to maintain performance where AMD does not, they use bridge rectifiers to stabalise their processing voltages. Intel has already moved onto Electrolytic Series II capacitors for their server boards, meaning a MUCH higher stability from AC to DC voltage configuration. Inductors on intel processors are now IN HOUSE unlike AMD who are out of board which allows easier EMI and EMF interference. Don't GET ME STARTED.
Concerning your reviews, why is it that I have not seen an AMD server in any major coperate environment. Could it maybe be that INTEL is better supported. I WOULD THINK SO!!! Maybe intel has better marketing but I for one know there are a lot more intels than AMD's in the coperate environment.
What moron would go and buy an AMD opteron, where they would have to go and purchase a 3rd party motherboard who designs their boards to AMD spec. Intel has there own processor, own motherboards and own chassis. Please AMD is still in the kiddy league when it comes to servers. Now instead of going around showing me reviews on sites about OLD technology. Rather use one and decide, as reviews are not as helpful when it comes to the SERVER market. Even further, would you really want to go for a server which MICROSOFT would not support as well as an INTEL (oh but I forget you a Linux/Unix fan).

I use my intel PC in winter as a blow-heater while I game on my AMD, but then I have to crank the headphones way up.
As regards Nvidia versus ATI, I currently use ATI but may move to an SLI Nvidia setup in the future. ATI's image quality is slightly superior. However, to argue about what's pretty or ugly is futile because it's purely in the eye of the beholder.
Excellent products abound and I believe you cannot go seriously wrong with any of the four stables. You can even go far with Intel depending on the amount you want to spend on heat and noise reduction.

heat and noise?
I have a 3.2 p4 running at 38 degrees and its quiet as a mouse (8 fans)
Interesting to see people's opinions about hardware. Hmm.

Wrong, there can be only one. ATI (nVidia had its moment in the sun)

Sneaky both cards are decent, like I said previously, it truly comes down to personal preference. I think you need to play on both cards and make a decison from there, personally I prefer nVidia as their shadow engine 3.0 is amazing!!!

For the people that hate noise, I am willing to design a schematic to build a very simple circuit that will give your AI over your fans, it would consist of a few resistors, veroboard, op-amp LM324 and 1 PNP-transistor. Soldering is pretty easy. Or I could easily build it for you, put it in a pretty box and ship it off to you.
Atm the design I have changes the voltage to every 0.1 degree, as well as shutting down the fan when the cpu is bellow a specified temperature. I have also integrated 8-segment LED's for configuration of temperatures and display (optional LCD panel).

sum1 is poorly mistaken, and that starting off a clean slate. AMD slaughter untel especially in the server. So what if untel, build their own cpu, mb and case. It would be nice if it would work together. But firstly it would be nice if it worked.
So AMD is just trying to untel a chance by comparing the 2.4 to AMD's 0.9.
And besides, I've had the servers (now they at the customer). My AMD workstation out performed a duel untel server (those odd occasion it ran).
Snautillian u thinking is marketing based. it looks pretty it must work well. next u'll be promoting microsnot, that's how they got their sales so high.
