New Laptop

Hey guys,

I am currently looking to buy a laptop for my studies next year, doing my honors in Architecture..So i will be needing a gaming type laptop, with enough ram and a nice gpu for 3d renderings and modeling..

I have always hated laptops because they are more expensive for less performance than desktop pc's, but i need the mobility, I dont have any experience with laptops so if someone can please help me out with which manufacterer to choose and where to buy.

I would like the specs to be something like this:

Intel Core2 Duo 2.5 GHz
3-4 GB ram
15.6" or bigger screen
Good graphics

I am thinking of spending R7000-R10 000

yo man, I've had almost every major make laptop (HP, Dell, Asus etc)

I bought a new laptop 6months ago or so for about R7000.

I bought an IBM Lenovo R500, and I must say I'm very happy with it, it was the best priced laptop for the specs.

Specs are :
Intel core 2 duo @ 2.27 GHZ (P8400)
4GB Ram DDR3
250 GB Hdd
DVD RW
Bluetooth
Wifi N
Radeon 3400 HD @ 128MB Dedicated
Gigabit Network
HDMI Output
2x PCMCIA slots
SD Card Reader
etc

My windows 7 rating compares to laptops still being sold today, I will post the rating later...
