Project: Epiphany 100% Complete - Finished my case mod

What's up guys

A few days ago i finished a mod i've been working on since the beginning of 2006. I worked very very hard, and now it's finally complete. I called the mod Epiphany.

So let me give you guys the background about this mod before i show it to you.

A few years ago i read a CustomPC magazine and saw the ORAC machine in it. It was really the most amazing mod i had ever seen. To this day, i still believe ORAC to be the most amazing mod. So i decided to do a mod of my own. This was the first real mod that i was to do, and i had absolutely no modding skills whatsoever.

I didn't, however, want to make my case exactly like ORAC. I just wanted it to look similar. I even spoke to Peter himself and he gave me all his best wishes, and wished me luck for this mod. I still need to show him. hehehe.

@ Haja: Yep, hundreds and hundreds of hours :) I can't tell you how many times i modded until 3am. But i loved every minute of it :D

Dae, it is a very nice mod that looks stylish and loudly proclaims its quality and good craftmanship.

However, it is just too busy for my taste. There are so many water pipes and cables, that is loses much of its Orac3-flair, and generally looks like a closet full of tangled cables. Perhaps a dark, lit-up side shot will change my mind.

Yep, that's the thing Gamos. A case like mine, or ORAC, it's really an acquired taste. Many, many poeple hated ORAC, because of all the cables, and then others loved it. You either like it or you dont, there's no in between :P

That is an excellent mod which must have taken insane amounts of work dae_ja_voo, it's not my type of mod, but it still looks great though, very skilfully done man!

Very nice Dae ... beautiful mod, just one thing ... I think the allen cap screws with washers kinda detract from the beauty, especially in the front, I'm kinda trying to look through all the screws and washers to see the case. I would rather have used the kins of screws they use on the fairings of the latest superbikes, you even get ones with different designs like on the Blackbird which would look awesome. You also get different colors like blue alu.

But you certainly have some awesome attention to detail man, this kind of mod is beyond my patience. (and wallet) :p

Congrats DJV. I've been dying to see this thing done... and I'm not disappointed.

I think you should SERIOUSLY consider getting a professional photographer (one who perhaps owns a clothes iron :P ) to take some good quality pics. I can see that the person who took those has some idea of how to use a camera but I think that some good lighting and a few great shots will make this thing come alive to all of us who have only ever seen it in 2D.
