Hey guys, just building up a 2nd PC from hand-me-downs from my main rig and so on. I'm just needing and AGP card, and hoping some1 might have an old one lying around somewhere.

Looking for something semi-decent, so it can at least cope with UT2004. I'd say anything up from a 9600pro or so. Not looking to spend too much, maybe around R500.

And thanks Scally, I think the 9600 pro is rather more the kinda card I'm after. I think the 6100 is a bit of a cheapo isn't it?

ye, I would rather go 9600. It would run ut2k4 in ultra low, but i think you will need from the 9800 up to run it in any semi decent mode.

for 1 k you can buy my x800 pro :P

No man, silly, I used to run ut2k4 on a 9600SE (which is the shittest version of the 9600 series) without much of a prob. I reckon the 9600pro is like at least twice the speed...

cool, my apologies then :)

I just remember my friend had the 9800 pro and managed to run UT at medium settings with a decent frame rate (maybe he had kuk ram or cpu).

Ahh yeah, Jinx, I discovered I actually had a spare AGP card lying around ...stupid me! TV-out & fanless nogal! Perfect for what is now my media center pc :)
