You guys won't believe what happened, The line is installed and they tested it and it works, but when I try to connect my username and password was not set up on the service provider. That is just some dumb shit right there.

Telecom just had to F*** me in the @ss one last time I guess, or I hope for the last time.

But hopefully I will sort this out today so that I can be online.

G5, thx hopefully today will be that fine day. Flak monkeys are cooler then combo whores but head hunters rule :P.

take care

Yeah berz, more fun with DSL.

I got them to fixed the problem after speaking an half an hour on the phone, maybe it is luck that I work at a mobile telecommunications company :), my account was created so I went home to test it and guess what, there is a problem with the exchange (something about a data conversation I don't really care I want adsl, [I never knew I could be such *itch] lol) :'( I just don't seem to be lucky or something, maybe it is a sign not to get ADSL, coz it is the devil... hehe

yeah I spoke to the technician who installed the line so he said he would let me know tomorrow and try and fix the problem, so hopefully this weekend but I guess I'll give them a week.

nah..this is a new product on the market..there are bound to be some hiccups here and there..and as i understand it, the installation is free :P so there i wont complain if they have a problem or 2 to get things up and running.

I went home like 30 mins ago to meet the technician. And YEAH it is working so hopefully it will work the entire weekend, so now I have to wait till 5pm :( need to freeze myself till 5.

Yeah installation and the ADSL modem is for free, this is the trial period so thats why it is like that.

with a 512kpbs line you get capped at 3 gigs and it cost N$699 per month, once you go over your cap it cost 0.15cents per mg.

I guess it ain't that bad at all. As long as it works I am happy.

Bezer are you up for a game tonight? And I guess I will see every1 else on the servers.

peace

I get about 100 - 200 ping, can't see rockets and shock balls. I wish it was a lan, I will try to see monday ifanything can be done by I doubt it.

CFG andBezer thanks for the game, it was fun man, I can't believe the latency but hopefully it gets faster when it gets finally implemented properly.

By the way can any one hook me up with a european server pleas I want to try something.

thx, peace

I called them, and they told me that I have in fact a 512 connection, but guess what the connection is slow right now. I guess Namibia's backbone sucks, So hopefully they can upgrade that and I can get Ping below 100 :) then you will be able to hit me when you hit and I will be able to hit when I hit... if you know what I mean.

p.s any1 up for a game @ 5:30? will be fun :)

got this in the mail today..it does seem that the bone is too small for all the dogs to bite on..

Major backbone network re-engineering from 26 March to 29 May 2007 may cause limited disruption of services

In our effort to support leading-edge telecommunications products and services, Telecom Namibia has invested heavily in creating a self-healing backbone infrastructure, by having constructed multi-million dollar fibre optic ring networks that span through the entire country.

Traffic from almost all connected networks is transported over the SDH (Synchronised Digital Hierarchy) transmission network which forms the basis of Telecom Namibia’s state-of-the-art transmission infrastructure.

The SDH transmission backbone was recently upgraded from STM-4 (622 Mbps) to STM-16 (2.5 Gbps) in order to meet the increasing demand for bandwidth-hungry, high speed data services, such as s CDMA, ADSL and WiMax that Telecom Namibia is currently deploying to meet customers’ demands. The increased bandwidth demands from cellular operators – MTC and CellOne – also necessitated the network upgrade.

In modern times, higher speed and larger capacity communications are now indispensable because of the rapid increase of multimedia applications and services, for example ISDN, portable telephones, Personal Handyphone System (PHS), digital leased lines and the Internet, through the globalisation of the communications market.

In view of this Telecom Namibia, in partnership with Marconi, a supplier of telecommunications and information technology equipment and services, will reengineer the current SDH backbone network in preparation for the introduction of automated protection of services through fibre ring networks. The reengineering is also intended to enhance the quality and flexibility of the transport networks.

The project entails the modification of the circuit information database and will be performed through a phased process, stating from the 26 March to 29 May 2007. It will be conducted from 23h00 to 06h00 to limit the effect of disruption of telecommunication services to customers.

Telecom Namibia thus wishes to advise customers of limited disruption of services during the above-mentioned period of network reengineering. These interruptions are unavoidable and will affect both national and international voice, data and cellular services.

We regret any inconvenience the reengineering exercise may possibly cause and wish to assure our customers that Telecom Namibia will do everything in its power to have this process completed as seamlessly as possible, without any major interruptions.

Customers are reminded that the modernisation of the telecommunications network is to the benefit of the users and the development of the Namibian economy. We call on customers to exercise patience during possible interruptions until the reengineering project is completed.

Thanks for the info berez, so it means kak ping till 29 May. Wow I hope they do not expect me to pay for the 512 line :( coz it is actually much less.

Don't worry as long as I get between 100 - 200 ping I will keep on playing UT with you guys. Just hate it that I don't see the shock balls, rockets and flak balls :)

Hopefully I improve by then and get my pay back on a few of you :P

Sup people

Got an update from telecom.

1. I called them and guess what my account isn't yet created on their sides, so I am actually getting free internet :) but the reason why they didn't charge me because they know it is very slow. tonight I will download a shit loads :). So telecom isn't that bad.

2. They told me hopefully it will be fixed by the 11 April, so until then I am not going to be able to play, coz the lag got much worst last night it isn't playable any more for me, too much packet loss :(

3. If it works and I get below 100 and no P/L then I wanna play all you guys again coz some guys just get close and it is really laggy and I don't know they are and I usually die close range way too much, so hopefully a better game from my side and more consistency.
