Hey all,

I've had a few pets in my life and I want something new... I had a kewl fish tank for a while, but I'm too busy and don't have time for all the effort in keeping a small tank in check, the larger tanks are kewl, coz they require less effort! :p

But yeah... I got my old 46cm Fish tank just sitting in our garage, and I'm looking for a new pet... I as thinking of getting myself one of these guys:

It's either this or a nice snake, but I don't really feel like owning a snake... spiders are just a little more unique imho!

the top on Poecilotheria metallica is a tad bit expensive and i'm trying to get myself 1,

expect to pay up R7000.00 for a size like the one above! :)

YAR!!! Just heard the blue one in the first pic is so rare it costs about R1800 for a baby... so that one is out of the question... I think I'll either go for the black or green then... if they aren't as expensive as well! ;)

Wow, wouldn't mind one of those things. But personally, I am more of a snake guy. You can listen to Jambi / Sex. He seems to be in the know on these things and he's got a really great little snake at home. :P

he has a few, and a couple hairy buggers as well.
But i ask, would u hold the spider?
cos thats the cool thing about a pet, holding them, i used to cuddle my snakes ;)

Rofl... dunno if I'd cuddle my spider... think it's more a kewl creature to look at... I know snakes are kewl to handle... but I just like the idea of owning an exotic tarantula! ;)

Anyhow... will see how things progress! ;)

Pet Spiders - where's the joy in that?


Doesn't play fetch, doesn't roll over and play dead, you can't take it for walks in the parks or on beaches. It doesn't make any humorous sounds, or lick your feet in the morning, or serve as the best guard and alarm possible....

Mmmmm...oh wait the joy must be in the spiders attractive appearance, yer right?
