um, the 7800gt is also over year old, and only 256mb and that is why is going for that little, guess i was a bit premature mentioning a 7800gt... Paid R3500 for a 9700pro once, flogged it for a grand :(

i see prophecy has my card for 5k, but guess i'll give it to my kids to play with instead of settling for 2k, no offence...

or burn it and watch the card sparkle and make cool cracking noises... :o

at the end of the day, it was top of the range b4 8800's, and 512mb obviously pushed the price up, not sure if the extra ram over the 320mb is really THAT significant?

I gotta agree, this card really pwns, and I think it'll be great when UT3 comes out, but I think Gamos can explain why the 512MB on this card is actually not as good as the 320MB on the 8800. It has something to do with the way the memory is accessed because it is really only 256MB x 2.

there's already been a couple GTX's sold for R2500 or less. I'm looking for another one so if nothing comes along I'll consider giving you R3k for it :)
