I'm with Zyron on this. I even thought about telling my girlfriend that we were moving guys night to Valentine's day. Then I thought again and decided that I may as well just go along with it to make her happy. :P

Yeah, I'm sure all the wife beaters will take their time out to make their lady feel special. My lady always says:

"Why take one day in an entire yeah to make your woman/man feel special? It should be done everyday in any case? Not necessarily buying gifts, but treat him/her special."

It is in fact commercialized and the stores feed off our "valentines day spirit".
Random days, i'll buy my g/f something nice and every year, on our anniversary, I'll do something as well, as that day was not declared "special" by anyone but me and my g/f

Already bought the wrong chocolate for one girl (But then I took a wild guess)
Another girl I couldn't find the right icecream, so I got a :( from her.

LOL!! At least u guys had valentines....:( Well, i suppose there is a 1st time for everything, at least i didnt have to go and spend alot of money on a girl, my pc was more than willing to be my valentine for the evening:D We had a good time....:D Oh and it a she by the way. lol
