Even though I'm no pro, I love 'em RTS games. Currently I'm playing Company of Heroes which rocks, best RTS I've played in quite a while. I've already finished the single player campaign. I also can't wait for Supreme Commander, by the looks of it, it's going to be great game.

I reckon i am gonna load on TA on my machine tonight and let the ARM and CORE ravish all the planets in the solar system in their bid for TOTAL ANNIHILATION. Truly hope this lives up to the hype of it being Ta's succesor , I love TA :) :)

Hehe i would lying if i said i knew anything about TA (played it when i was little) cant remember a thing lol, but the game seem impressive and doesn't seem to be as much of a resource race as all the RTS games out there which should make it interesting :D

I speak under correction but i think it was the first rts title to come out.

I could be wrong but wasn`t command and conquer before Dune?

Dune 1 wasn't really a rts, was more of a rpg.
Dune 2 was a rts and it was before C&C.

I remember having Dune 2 on stiffy disks and C&C was on CD, ergo: Dune 2 older than C&C.
And another thing: Dune 2 you have to select each unit individually, C&C you have the drag a square thing.

The best rts I've played to date is Empire Earth: The art of Conquest, This is the expansion for Empire earth 1, this game stands out above other with a bigger pop limit and also some room for ACTUAL strategy!

Have anyone played civilizations:rise and fall something like that? it is a sweet RTS and you can control your hero in 3rd person with sword and first person with bow, and you can slaughter an entire army. It is just badly made it sucks mplaya coz of the lag issues but it seems as a cool game.

I have had Supcom for just over a week now and i have found my preferred race to be the UEF :) They seem to be the most versatile of the three imho , and besides i am a human :) (I think ?)

Adv3nt what race u prefer dude ? My strategies usaully concentrate on arties and forward fire bases pounding the h3ll into the enemy base and Commander. Followed by my favourite the fatboy who rolls in producing his own army on the way.

Really enjoying this one. (Wish I got yr T-Shirt Zyron ;) )

This game does tend to go into the turtle strategy, I've found myself doing it in all the 2v2 I've played. Turtle -> Tech -> Pwn.

Some good strats, I agree on the turtling strat . or it is tech race and rush rush rush with the lvl1 units

But as a Ta fan so far I am not dissapointed , and i am really looking forward to the mods and the new units that will be out soon enough :)

I got the game yesterday, @ CNA for N$299. and played 1 vs 1 last night with a friend I must say sweet game, but we played on normal speed very slow game, but it is really nice. Can't wait for 5 o clock so that I can Lan it with more people.

I played with the UEF, still learning the game but yeah, I like them UEF FTW, that one unit (tech 3 bomber) at the air filed for 72000 power is VERY nice :) , bomb the shit outta my friend and he just quit. and I like the nuke explosion of the supreme commander, like half his base was blown when he went down.

And my friend is playing right now (he likes the Aeon illuminate - ironically his alias is Aeon) while I sit at work and dream about the game, I guess tonight I will get my ass handed to me, coz he is out for revenge :P, but I say "Bring it" :P

Will tell you how a 8 player FFA is like (once everyone has it cracked :P), hopefully it gets real intense, I will just make sure I bomb the shit outta every unit.

You must try and get a few firebases set up near his base with a radar and shield gen. Tech 2 art. is cool.

I also dig tech.3 Gunships, tech.2 mobile rocket launcher, and tech3. mobile arties :)

A 8 player FFA will be unplayable :(, There is no way your PC will be able to handle the sheer amount of units crawling around the map.
A 4 player 2 hour game becomes unplayable, everything just slows to a crawl when units are made to move.

Shit that sucks, my friend has quite a good p.c, like 1gig 800Mhz hyper-X ram, dual core 3 GHZ, x1900xt 512mb. me I have 1.5gb ram, x850xtx p.e 256mb , 2,8ghz Ht prescott. And if we set all our settings to lowest will that help?

So is that not enough for a 8 FFA? So I guess that will have to wait for new quad core machine then :P with a R600 1 gig Vid ram.

We patched it to the newest available patch, will that not solve the problem, The maps are really huge and it will just be a waste if we cannot have a 8 play FFA

Those guys didn't wanna play, coz of the size of the whole thing (image = around 7 gigs and game = 8.7gigs and copy time) and coz of cd-keys AND they were Dota fans, I love to beat people in there own game :).

But me and a friend played it was fun but I got 1 other friends who is keen on having a 3 player FFA maybe next weekend, but they also didn't wanna play me in UT2k4 really sad for me, no human competition but I convinced them in the end it was 4 nOObs vs me :P will paste the screen shot tomorrow, but rough is a good place to play 4 guys ;)

Yeah, we mostly played Dota, COD2 and source, I sucked a bit in source, I guess I was to drunk after I drank like half a bottle of vodka, but I was pwning in Dota... hehe

Another thing I played a 81km by 81km map, shit that is a gigantic map, against an AI. after an hours play the game just bombed out. I guess I will just play 20km by 20km maps from now onwards.

M favourite race is the Aeon so far and then the UEF although i love the UEF shielding :D i still haven't played against a human player though but i love it :D i need some strats though. i'm so used to the micro of wc3 and sc :(

Good ta c ya :) I have only played the AI myself :( But hey as you said dis ting is da sh1t!!!!! I am going ta b tryinn out my naval units tonight , as i have been concentrating on my land and air .I believe that the Aeon own Naval type maps, Their T1 tanks are partley to thank for this as they can r amphibious and one can take control of the map early on. I am not sure as how to counter this maybe tech up to get my gunships earlier ?? Or turtle and tech up and defened my base at all costs any ideas?? Will keep u updated to how she blows :D :peace: :D

I played skirmish and I selected the largest map you can find so I guess it is the world map size 81km x 81km, I find 5km x 5 km is a nice 1 vs 1 map. I forgot the screenshot will edit this post and add it (UT screenie).

I watched the tutorials last night and played a game against a normal bot(wtf pwned it), that mobile shield units in the tech 2 land factory are sweet, I lost like 4 units that game. Learning to gather resources much faster and an early rush :P.

I like making sure my resources are always in plus so that I can build more, and I found out last night you can assign engineers to buildings to help them build units which is sweet. I expand as fast as I can, I build a scout as soon as I can and scout and I like to get a radar close to enemy base so I can see the movement of units so I try to be well alerted where the enemy is moving to. But I never nuke the enemy just surround it with my tech 3 units and it is over. :( I guess I need to start playing the harder bots now :) .

I haven't tried Aeon yet only cybran which are cool I guess.

What do you guys think of the single player campaign, I think I will actual play it, looks like the story line can be great.

I played a game last night against a friend, it was crazy, I couldn't seem to kill him :( , i played with the Aeon they are nice but I find the experiential units aren't that good, I build that experiential siege bot in fact 2 and I nuked him but he had defenses, but i only destroyed one of his bases. I guess I will need 10 of them next time :)

But I also don't know how to ferry, and it is important coz a transport can only take 2 tech 3 siege bots. and I had 20 transports and to fill them up manual takes way too long for my likings.

The game is excellent, I love it, they just need to make performance better so that we can play 8 players.

We also had a 3 player FFA, and UEF rule no one can come close and that is the truth coz once you get the experiential artillery, the other guy is screwed. I was UEF and got it and they just quit coz that is a powerful weapon.

The Aeon Sacred Assault Bot can take 4 direct hit nukes and still keep marching its path of MDK! :D, but ja, that UEF Mavor is insane, pin point accuracy @ any range :(

Ferry is easy stuff.

1. Move the transport to the start position, click ferry and click its destination.
2. You will see a small ferry icon near that transport, move any units onto that Icon and the transport will automatically do the ferry thing to the destination.
3. Lose your units as they're slaughtered on route to the battlefield :P

I got that Aeon Sacred Assault Bot into his main base, but it seems to attack and then stop and then attack and then stop and it moves really slow by the time it reached his base I built another one with 10 sub commanders :). I wish it also exploded like a nuke, that would have been cool. but ya if I had 240 000 hitpoints. I would survive a nuke in real life. :P

Once UEF has their Mavor, you need to either destroy it or will be destroyed in the next 10 mins, use it to destroy all his sam's and then bomb the shit outta him and use air superiority support for the bombers and the game will be done, with of course 5 fat boys ;)

Yeah that tech 3 gunship is powerful especially in large numbers like a 100 :) with some air superiority support and with some bombers you can most properly take the enemy down.

I love the tech 3 siege bot from UEF (big numbers like a zergling rush hehe) and the Fat boy it is real nice, it has range, has a shield, can produce engineers to repair itself.

So is it possible to play this game online yet? and where?
