View Full Version : IGN reviews Razer Deathadder.

Very interesting review!
What I found particularly interesting -
3G infrared is the favourite over laser nowadays?
Razor departed from Ambidextrous design.
Rubbery feel.
Even as lefty I have no problem with the Wheelmouse Optical here at work, so I am very interested in this mouse. I have never, since Boomslang days, really got used to how Razer wants me to hold their mice. This departure might just be the smartest move they have made yet.

I'll be the crash test dummy for every leftie, but I am getting this mouse. Goodbye Copperhead.

why u chaging mice so soon G? U reacon this one is that much better or you now happy with your CH??
Edit - checked the review, is it really leftie friendly, you only get thumb buttons on the left side, so that makes it pinkie buttons only G?
Also, I see alot of good gamers still using 400dpi mice and 800dpi. Is it better to use the max dpi on the mice (ie, the higher the better) or do some ppl prefer lower DPI for another reason? I am a bit confused, as I always tthought the higher the DPI the more 'accurate' the mice.

I also noticed that Haj, Naut uses 800 as do others.
I feel like learning from an explaination. :)
In the ESR review, they say they have the MX500 (i have the MX510) at 1000mhz, and at this it performs well, How do imake sure mine is set to this speed?
I am on xp 64bit, and I am not running any mouse drivers, soooo
I think ill buy a Deathadder soon then.
Haj,
The short answer is I live for placebo. :D
The long answer is, I have no problems with the CH but the shape. By now I am used to it, but I would much rather return to a more traditional shape with superior tech, if I had the chance. I have never been happy with any Razer mouse in that regard, but Logitech basically gave me the ole middle finger. Seems the Deathadder is what will do it for me.
As for extra buttons,

Its symetrical WH, so it works for both
Haj, yeah that ESreality review is actually quite clever. It is the first reviewer with some tangible test bench for mice. Most reviews are placebo only.
The mouse is actually slanted a bit. It is the first non-symetrical mouse from Razer. I use a MS Wheel mouse optical here at work (with the very slight slant), and am fine with it. That is why I say I will be the test dummie for lefties. :D
As for the extra button, I will disable it as soon as the drivers is loaded. I have never ever used more than 2 buttons on any mouse.
Maybe I can get the wife to get it for me for Valentines? Hehe.
Haj, I will give it a month or two before considering getting rid of the CH, but fair enough, you are first on my list. :)
