View Full Version : Burning desire for The Burning Crusade?
So TBC finally hit the shelves on the 15th, im likely getting my copy in the next few days to raul some new World of Warcraft content. Despite my somewhat limited hours of gaming i manage to squeeze in everyday I can't wait to try it!
For those who live in a cave Im talking about the brand new World of Warcraft expansion. The much anticipated title has changed and added a shitload to the otherwise "limited" vanilla version. New items, new races, new encounters and a higher level cap, what more can a WoW addict such as myself ask for? :D
GIEF EPIX PLX!

do not go WH, resist the darkside. We will never see you again :(
Wow is just UT in medieval times. :D
Arathi Basin is Domination
Warsong Gulch is CTF
Aterac Valley is Assault.
and the new arena mode is 1v1 duels or 2v2/3v3 TDMs. :)
What is not to love?
Yeah, and join a PVP server, don't waste your time on PVE.

LOL!!!
Nice... what are the monthly charges for WoW? Think I might've heard summin about charges somewhere? Then when I got some spare cash... I'll get it! :D Will it be easy for a total noobie like myself to play?

well, its about R160 from what I remeber.
When you buy the game you do get some time (30 days?) 'free' play time. After that, you can then sign up to play monthly, with your CC.
Also, you will need BC eventually, if you dig the game, which will set you back a few more hundred.
Just mark my words (Haja takes note of post date and where post is located for future reference), if you get this game, UT will never be played again (or only once in a while, when you feel guilty cos you have been neglecting the clan).
WoW = Goodbye life :(

I agree with Haja, if you are competitive and play WOW say good bye life, playing with more than 400 000 people on the server with so many things to do, I actually know a guy who QUIT his job to play WOW, so that is said enough, Me I am not touching wow with a stick, i rather stick to something like UT where you can actually take a break to go and piss not WoW
bc = burning crusade
Wouldn't touch WoW with a 10-foot pole :D
R120 p.m please, Not R160. :)
You get 2 types of gamers - Those who play WoW and enjoy too much, and those who don't play because they are afraid they will enjoy it too much. :D
Ps - I'll take WoW above UT anytime :p

You get 3 types G, the 2 you mentioned and the last one who is clever enuf to stay away from WoW as he, like a crack addict, knows that just one sniff, and he will be off the rails.
I fall into the 3rd. My 1.5 year stint on NWN taught me that. Going to bed at 3am most nights and waking up at 5am is not so good for your body.
Yes, you fall neatly under category 2 as well. :)
I still say parental lock by the wife will sort you out. :p
[N]Haja
18 Jan 2007, 13:54
Whats the use G? I will just be torturing my wife with bamboo under her finger nails until she gives the password up.
Ok, I will set the password, I find bamboo quite relaxing. :D
With the 20 minutes per day I'll allow, you'll be lvl 70 without problems. In October. 2008.

lol, you really make a good argument G, I am off right now to buy the game!
Good God nooooooo!!!!
Dude I`m certain that peope have been found to be clinically addicted to WoW.
Like most of the other people here who know that they have addictive type personalities {I nearly FAILED first year because of UT}, I`m going to stay the h3ll away from WoW.
Enjoy those of you who can control your habit, I can`t :)

Hah! Blasphemy!
Now you see kids; this is what happens when you meddle with these type of games.
Plato.
IIRC - There is a clinic in holland that deals with addictions, the number 1 addiction to kick? World of Warcraft.
I love playing WOW. Just got my Burning Crusade upgrade. Outlands is looking pretty schweet. Just started a Draenei Sharman. :D

My goodness... R120p.m? After paying Telkom R270 for ADSL, plus R290 to ISP... Fekkit... and as much as I'm interested in WoW... I'd rather give it a skip... well only till I see someone play it online... and if it REALLY seems that kewl... I'd give it a bash... but maybe I'll try summin else like Guild Wars or summin... dunno... really want another game that isn't a FPS that I can enjoy online... UT is nice and all... but I don't like being so one-sided now-a-days! :/
Cheers!
Im still just happily ubering up my lvl 60 lock:P
Until you realise that level 63 quests gives greens that oudo your MC Purples! :)

I used to buy 1 - 2 games per month but since I've bought WoW I haven't spent a cent on another game. It's really hard to explain to someone who hasn't played the game before what makes it so great. My advice is don't start with WoW if you don't have at least 3 - 4 hours to spend on it per day.
All I can say is that once you start raiding it is the ultimate team game. Quite a few old UT players are in the guild "Ancients of Honor" on the server Stormrage in the US.

MC Purples with enchants will still be in some cases beter than the greens. MC -60 - 63 BWL- 64 - 67 NAXX-68 - 70 enchants will let your precious purple last a lvl longer. I'll post the source of this info tommorrow, when i'm on a pc and not cellphone ;)

Freaks! :P
lol i found kicking the greenage habbit, smoking ciggies and a pill here and there all together easier than quitting wow forever. best not to start if u havent tried it, follow the advice of an addict thats been playing since the release and wasted a year of his life...guilty as charged. i do exercise a little more self-restraint nowadays tho.
btw im buying the collectors edition of BC in a few days, netherwhelp owns u :P
my list of chars incl:
Ze - 60 rogue (noob char)
Myst - 60 rogue (second to 60 on lightnings blade realm)
UD Jaw - 60 warrior (ex-MT of top horde guild on lightnings blade)
Orc Jaw - 60 warrior (best geared dps warr on darkspear realm)
All pimped out with MC / BWL / PvP purples
and the one ive just started is a lvl15 Orc warrior also called Jaw :P started him day before yesterday.
god i wish i could make a decent living out of this game..

The best pvp warriors are all on that server, like swifty . Will you please create a profile with your gear, I've also swapped to DPS warrior from MT.
You can make a living. Just form your own guild. Have guild tax, different amount per level set, IE: lvl 1-10 50s -1g, etc etc where lvl 60 pays like 10 or more per week. It must be a high lvl raiding guild, which can take time to form..
Along with that, have a guild bank, where all un-needed items are donated by the members. Get uber rich in wow gold and items, start an E-bay or private selling website, and sell gold, items, power leveled chars, and the like.... you make money in dollars, which is not bad.
That's how you do it Z1.
Check www.rpg-bay.com (http://www.rpg-bay.com)
It's my mates, he's in CT, makes a proper living off it, actually he's fucking rich.
One of the largest UO dealers in Southern Hemisphere...
Although, you will have no life, but the perks are if you've done well u can take month long holidays anywhere in the world....GL :)

As a matter of interest, hypothetically speaking of course, say a friend of mine is interested in WoW, would he be able to buy just BC and play or must he buy both? :)
