I LOVE the competitive scene - make no mistake, I am a bit of a n00bie myself and have reached the limit of my skills and accept that ... until I grab the LG again :P

I would have loved to see more of a league or ladder here in SA as well but I guess with the state of the Innerweb here, that is difficult?

Or is there other reasons that inhibit us? I mean this forum can get pretty active at times and there is a LOT of skill and talent amongst us

but you know what makes Europe so good? they play. thats all. simple really.

what is the prospect for ut2007? think we can get a decent thing off the ground here in SA or bound to fail?

I must agree with this one... just so many other things in life that make it impossible for one to commit to something like online gaming! :/

Anyhow, lets see if UT2K7 changes that to some extent! :P

I don't know, I'm prolly just not good enough or something, but I never had a problem with my ping

Yes I can feel a slight difference between lan and internet, but it's not that hard for me to adapt :/

Good God,
If you speak in the third person again I`m going to get you an agent who fux your career up by promoting you in fizzy drink commercials and snacks for middle to late teenagers.

Then you will write a book on the trappings of fame and make a mediocre movie about the struggle to get on top. Of course the movie will contain the inherent tragedy that the top is not all its made out to be.

Your character {played by Leonardo de Caprio} will then begin a cocaine habit so that he can at least feel something again. The story ends where he gives a confessional narative and a gruesome account of the tinsel town that is the ut competitive scene. The credits role with "Bitter sweet tragedy" by the verve.

Now please, speak in third person again...

point taken karnaugh - but the that might change soon, no? saw the killer nic in the nag ... he he, this and faster speeds might make it feasible ...

the Eurocup, for instance starts of online but then the top 8 players usually meet at a LAN somewehere

what with mango and that, flying to Durbs for a quick UT final also starts to look more possible

throw in sponsors and $$$ and it all becomes rather sweet

pipe dream? maybe, but definitely possible

Yeah Cyghost I must agree, online gaming is the future, although it can never replace LAN for many reasons we will no doubt see alot more comps with the group stages online and the final stages on LAN.

This will make it easier for anyone to compete without having to fear that if they don't do well they would have wasted their time and money.
