I had a car accident in a parking lot/area today,i didnt have my learners with me but my friend did have his license with him,the guy reversed into me . . . long story short everything was his fault, will i have to take responsibility for his damage seeing that i didnt have my learners there at that time ,cause surely driving with or without ur license does not change the way u drive and whats the difference between an accident on roads and parking areas/lots???? if not is there anything else i should be concernd about like a fine or something?

I will be going to make my statement tomr btw

Thanx in advance

actually the same rules does not count for parking areas

but the scenario you sketched sounds like you should be safe anyway - if you show you learners when you report it and mention your friend was with you and his license, you'd be covered

the insurance will fight it out

My only advice to you is, dont talk to the 3rd party involved. Let the insurance companies battle it out. Never ever speak to the 3rd party. Trust me I worked in Short Term Insurance.

i wouldn't bring anything up about not having your license with you at the time of the "Accident". Just take it with you tomorrow. Also it would greatly help your case if your mate who had his license with him makes a statement at PoPo same time as you. General rule of thumb is, if anyone hits you from behind they are normally held liable regardless of circumstances. I'm sure DFFS can back me up on that.

I had more or less the same accident. Was also in a parking area but the guy hit me at 50km and smashed away the hole front side of my car...Sad news is he doesn't have insurance and he told the cops I skipped the stop street. I just handed the situation over to my insurance and they handled it for me :)
