You dont think that is a bit high for a second hand previous generation card?

Just asking. :)

Don't think that's a very bad price... these cards retail close to R7k... seeing that it's basically 2 7900GTX's on one card... it's a beast and seeing that it's still under warrenty... pretty nice! :D

Anyhoo cya...

Ya I guess...

I'd just rather go for a brand new 800gts for a tiny bit more. :)

Cheers.

This is prolly a very noob question, but is it possible to put this thing in SLI with a single core 7900 OR a single core 7950?

War]-[eaD
30 Nov 2006, 18:27
I don't think so dude... :P

This isn't a single core/dual core issue... the issue is: This 7950GX2 is actually 2 boards connected to one another, running on a single PCI-E slot (SLi on one card if you will)... So it's in fact two seperate GPU chips working together through one PCI-E Slot! :D

Check it out:

7900GT (Single PC board, 1 GPU chip)

Does this help Jaymac? ;)

AND THEN...

IF you REALLY want to go insane... do a quad SLi:

Its a no-brainer. 7600gt if its new. 7800gt if its second hand. IMO...

Thing is R1500 won't quite get you a second hand 7800GT... they are more along the line of R2000... :(

But 7600GT retails for about R1100 - about R1600...

But I must agree with the comment... 7800GT would be a VERY good buy... 7600GT is okay... :tounge:

Cya

PS.>I'm gonna start a new thread for this... we are totally derailing poor DAE's thread! :(

*E*I*S*C*H*!!! Come on people... a 7950GX2 for this price is unheard of! O_o

GM<Jaymac>MF
12 Dec 2006, 16:23
I would go for it if I had the cash. It's not just the R3600 that gets me, it's that I still have an AGP board, so that means upgrading my whole system :(
