Beyond Unreal points to a forum post by Epic's Steven Polge:

We currently have well over 40 maps in development. Some of those may be cut, but you should expect UT 2007 to ship with a comparable number of maps to past UT releases (UT2004, which had two games worth of maps excepted).

We are definitely planning to release a demo long enough before we go gold to be able to incorporate feedback from the demo into our final release.

Good news.

Shrimpo, why does the news page not display smileys and show the url tags?

Doesn't show smilies, but does obey regular [url] (lowercase) syntax for linking. You just have to add the [url] tags to your post manually :).

Aaah! I tried both just posting the link and actually clicking on the link. Both gave the uppercase URL tags.

Fixed now. :)

Found this here : http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.com/news/UT2007_System_Specs;22871

Minimum: 2.8GHz, 512mb Ram,Geforce6
For high details: 3-4GHz, 1Gb Ram, Nvidia 6800GT/ultra or 7800GT/GTX SLI
Dual-core Processor use: Multi-Threading is supported and should provide much better performance.
64 Bit version available with better textures
Renderers: Shader-3.0, Fallback-Mode for Shader 2.0 maybe a dx8 renderer.
HDR: yes
Physics: Novodex-Physik-Engine.
Ageias PhysX Processor supported.

As they say on the page, theres a good chance that these specifications are just a rumour. All the same, I wouldn't be surprised if the final specs are similar to these.

bleh, I'm probably gonna have to upgrade :(
