Hi all,
Has anyone experienced problems with ADSL connectivity today?
I have had my international link dissapear about 6 times now and lost connectivity completely twice. It is starting to drive me nuts.
I am on IS Uncapped Business ADSL if that makes a difference.
He is alive!!! Howzit Dom?
I had my connection drop last night (Imaginet, hence SAIX) for the first time in ages. I wonder if this is linked to the upgrades?!

Hi there,
look if this of any help let me know, it might seem weird, but it REALLY was my problem. if u are using a power supply with lightning protection or the phone lines go into the power supply then into the phone lines, swap your power supply for a std one and go directly into the lines. I know everyone is thinking duh... no protection but hey... honestly... it somehow interferes with the line... i was dropping out 7/8 times a night... since the swap, nothing for 2 months...

Hey G!!! How you doing old man :)
Good point on the lightning protection. I think I will try that. There is definately something wrong on my line as my telephone part is completely dead. When you pick up the phone, you get "Line busy" all the time. So perhaps what you mentioned here is the cure to getting my telephone back at least. A call has been logged, but you know Telkom. I could be without a telephone for 3 months. As long as my ADSL portion is up and running though - I am happy. Who needs to talk :)
I emailed Gamco last night about the problem and it was apparently due to Telkom upgrading the SAIX sat link or something and should be resolved today.
Nope thats IS SOP, expect it weekly.
