Something I've realised about ONS

I have, in the past week, grasped something about UT which I have always battled to get...

Onslaught is fun!

Yip, only last week did I realise how much fun it really is. For those of you that are still battling to get to grips with this weird style of play, just keep trying, and bear with it because the rewards are enjoyable. It's like normal UT except you've got two extra weapons, a couple of vehicles and an actual goal to play for! :)

True that. I've been playing alot of DM lately and it gets a little monotonous at times. Oh, and the fact that the only opposition I have are bots says it all. Every now and again, I fire up an ONS game, fill the game with like 20+ bots and have a rip-roaring time (even with computer-controlled opponents :P). We really should get the odd ONS game going @ our next CT LAN *hint hint, Acid & Pox* :D

My only gripe with ONS is the duration of the matches. If I am in the mood for a quick 30 minutes of gaming, ONS is the last place you can find it.

Ons has its merrits, but yeah it can get very frustrating, especially when Bean and Xan use their Mantas to ride u down .......... LOL

well Assault has ONS beaten on every level

its FUN, its goal orientated, its very tactical, its fast paced and furious, there are so many tricks on the different maps, its over within a couple of minutes (AS with two teams knowing what they are on about ends within 5 minutes cept on junkyard he he)

wish there were some assault players in SA - I miss my AS days when I was king of convoy

Thanks - I still struggle to mow people down with the Manta. Only this last weekend did I finally manage to jump my Manta onto one of the base towers in ONS-Torlan. Still working on actually doing it when someone is up the tower, so I can ride them over. Now that would be great.

Gamos - Agreed - they can go on a bit long sometimes. You play 2 ONS games and it's suddenly midnight :confused:

voting ONS kills the main server ;p You get 5 people voting ONS, and it wins. Everyone who hates ONS leaves. You are left with 5 people playing ONS. The 5 people playing ONS say "OMW, LOLZ... all the TDM players left they hate ONS". Five minutes later, same ONS player bleats "This is boring, not enuff ONS players. GG" and then proceeds to log out. Also, I have seen ppl vote ONS on purpose, only to then log out at the start of the game to intentionally ruin it for other's. Id preferably have it removed from the gametype selection on the main server... but, thats just me ;p

To say ONS sucks, is an understatement!

I used to believe the same, and then I saw the light. Give it a try... it's actually kind of cool when you get into it. :)

I doubt I could lasst more than one game at a time, but that one game is good enough.

I have no doubt that many people like ONS. I much prefer a good CTF game
