I saw an ad in the paper this morning selling compatible ink cartridges for my printer. They going for R25 each, compared to R100-150 for the original.

So my question is, Are compatible cartridges worth buying, other than the price factor?

Biker, I work in a company with plenty deskjet HP machines, and the short answer is No, every single time. I hate HP (and all the other print manufacturers) for their rediculous pricing, but refilled and "compatible" cartridges tends to leak, destroying the entire printer in the process. I would say at least 5/10 refilled cartridges gives problems eventually (leaking, nozzles clogging, alignment out).

My 2c.

Thats what was worrying me about them. Thanks for the input.
