[UZA] BF2 Bid

Hi Guys

The Avatars has decided that playing Bf2 is great fun, while we wait for ut2007,
It’s brought us many fun times online so we thought about it and decided that we
Want to take on a campaign in kicking some of the larger clans asses, which brings
Me to the idea we have in mind.

Those of you that play BF2 online know that there are loads of clans and most of
Them boast 20-30 members, we are only 9 players and 7 of them is active in bf2
At the moment.

What got us thinking is: we already have an UZA community and we find more of
them every day, that play bf2 with us online.

Our idea is that we merge all the UZA clans that play BF2 and form a group called
UnrealZA [UZA]. Now b4 you think never!! Read on … NOTE!!! We don't have to
change any thing in our current stats or profiles; we just add the prefix [UZA] when
we play in clan matches

Each Clan would still be an individual clan in BF2 and would still have their own battle
strategies and style of play. Each clan would have a squad that they would play in,
that could be locked if they like. So you would still enjoy the game with your friends.
Nothing would change, as you would still be who you are now, only added extra is we
kick ass as a community. NOTE!!! we would still be our own unique clans but we play
clannies together. every clan would still be run by their leaders the way they feel it should.

Currently I’m the team manager for BF2 and it’s my job to organize clannies and clan
Practices. When we merge into [UZA] each clan that joins our cause would select a
team leader in their own ranks and they would join me in organizing every one. IOW
Every team leader would still be responsible for their own players just like they are now,
but us team leaders would be in communication as to who we want to play, when we want
to practice ect. ect.

If there is clan less Guys here also playing bf2 I see no reason why you can’t join us in the fun.

I agree about forming a clan, but seriously I think you should throw out the whole "Keep your current clan". I say we just form 1 clan, appoint leaders and see who works best with each other. We wear one global tag together, why split up a good thing? I think that having clan leaders under one clan and all of that is just going to complicate things. UT clans must stay in UT, I say we just keep the friends the same and form one clan.

the thing is the reason i wanted clans in their own squads is so that we don't step on each others toes or have battles about who like what clan name

some of us are in clans allready and would like to stay that way for most of the games we play cause we wear our tags with PRIDE

just adding [UZA] as a prefix in your name would be easy and simple plus every hardcore clan member would still belong in his group of friends.

using curent clan leaders/ team leaders is just as simple cause they allready know everyting about threir friends and how to phone or get ahold of them.

Anyway, I think a simple "[UZA] <A>Shrimp", or "[UZA] ]H[Cataphract" is fine. Nobody has to drop their current tags, the game supports it, we can still be in our existing individual clans, and most importantly, nobody has to lose their stats :P.

Anyway, if I had to choose between a UZA clan, and Avatars, on the basis of clan tags, sorry4u but I'd go with Avatars ;).

i just don't see how clans that currently play bf2 would give up their clans to join a new one for bf2 and as far as i know there are 5 clans here that play bf2 allready of which 4 is active.

every clan has there own way off caping the flag.
so what we where thinking off...........that you can make your team in bf2 off six guys
in a team.........so y don't keep the ta by the ta and the Helix peeps by the Helix ppl.......it just make's it a hole lot better thats y .......put the perfix in front and there you go np now we can kick there asses as (UZA) plus you don't need to give your tip to other peeps cuase some off the clan are not always happy in giving there tip's out to other peeps...............

Anyway, I think the idea here is also, we all love our clans (or should :P), and we all (those interested in this topic) love Battlefield 2 [almost ;)] as much as we do Unreal Tournament.

However, those of us in clans, find we have to pass on clan matches, as our clans' BF2 involvement isn't large enough for us to actually compete.

What this idea does, is it allows us to play with our indevidual clans as usual, but lets us team up with fellow small clans for the purpose of competing/playing at clan level, while jolling with both our clans, and fellow UT peeps who we know and love.

Basically nothing changes within our existing clans, and nothing changes in how we play BF2. It's pretty much an arrangement which benefits everyone I think.

you have a point and so does naut once we are a team we could organise a clan practice session and see how we do in the normal squad per clan if we find that it doesn't work then we split up and form random squads with most experienced players as squad leaders so we could help eachother reach one goal of kicking the strongest clans asses.

Bf2 is very dynamic for me as it gives anyone the chance to have a blast and support his team as best he can....they say that you can't teach old dogs new tricks, but i think <A>Toppie proved them wrong

skillz is good but not as important as team work. i would say we sort the team work first the skillz will come with practice

TP for commander..... he's actually very good @ that and I don't think squads online should be limited to your clan only all the UZA peeps need to mix it up I'll start playing with my TAG tonight but I do have to resign from borg first....... and they're a great bunch of guys.

I'm going to sduggest however if everybody is keen let's make bio the organizer and "clan leader" for [UZA] and may I suggest we get the clan server booked one night so all the [UZA] guys can join for a little practise and maybe some of the older players take some squads and familiarize the players with some of the tactics and strats.

Also are we going to play Vanilla or urban? I love urban allot more because there is a whole lot less smacktards and gameplay is always frantic hectic and awesome fun on urban.

Bio maybe book the clan server for us? I am however banned for life from the saix forums due to a comment that Countsperm is well more.... than unsavory... but I can still online.

I would also like it if we could simply mix and match everyone. At some point as we practise and stuff we will start to see who fits with whom. The balance of a each squad is more important than having one ultra super soldier squad and the rest is so so for example. So, the major factor should be how each squad is balanced instead of which UT clan members plays in which squads.

So, each squad should have a good squad leader, one who can relay information from and to the commander really well (assuming the commander is not a nitwit). One who can quickly assess the situation around him and be effective in the overall strategy of the game (which is to wip the other clans asses properly).

The time for revenge is upon us. :D

There is a simple reason why I wanted to keep the clans as they are. It’s because they already play BF2 as a clan so they function as a unit already
...don't miss understand me here i know that some people don't have the skill or experience most of us might have, that we can sort out with practice sessions and support to the newer players so they can get to the same level we are.

I don't see a point in having a clan leader really as we are a community and we will be working as one unit anyway we just need to find a Team Manager to organize clannies and practices. Whoever we select to be our commander should be the guy to work out battle strategy for us to work from and if need he should be able to turn to us for help. We also need to find out who does what best and appoint them to those rolls. I understand that TP is a great commander but I don't see his name here, maybe he doesn't even want to join our cause. And maybe the other players that want in has just as good skill in being a commander like we use Gizzlo. Thing is a commander is only as good as the team that work with him cause if they don’t listen he’s pretty useless to.

As much as we are all excited about this plan, I think we are jumping the gun a bit and we need to get a team first before we can decide how to make it function as a killing machine.

I know my idea is a great one, but maybe we should start looking at the big picture and realize that we could be one awesome unit if we work as a community from the start instead of clans forming a unit. There is just no way in hell I’m starting a new account for it though, the prefix [UZA] in your current account should be enough

This plan is still in the beginning stages so there are still loads of room for improvement but we also need to respect each others thought and ideas and try and incorporate as much as possible to find a common ground for everyone to enjoy this

In terms of clan tags, the original idea might work, but what if you have a situation where only one or two members of a certain clan join? Surely they can't be in a squad all by themselves, and surely the whole chain of command theory won't work out to well either.

I hear what u are saying Bio, but think about the guys who has not been playing BF2 on the same level as you guys have. It won't help to have one Rambo uber squad and the rest are useless. If the clans members are not "allowed" to mix in different squads, how do you prupose we get squads who all function well? If you guys are willing to share some of the skills you've learned in order to get the other squads up and runnning quickly then its fine, but if you are not willing to share your trade secrets since you still want to perform as an individual clan too, then there is a conflict of interest and I don't see it being much different than what it currently is on the servers. I'm not saying you should spoonfeed the rest, but you have to get your priorities straight, do you want a large UZA clan, or do you want a bunch of loosely coupled squads? Just my 2c's.

Exactly my point Bio, you are going to have well seasoned players in one squad and very new players (such as myself) in another, where we just land up being cannon fodder. I also think that squads need to be formed carefully with classes. I personally can think of 4 squads that would be formed:

1) Tactical squad (mixing up all the classes and uses all vehicles).
2) Sniper squad.
3) Spec ops squad with 1 medic and 1 support.
4) Airforce squad.

You see the whole beauty of going this way instead of keeping the tags etc etc. Is that we land up getting so much more and in the end after quite a few practice session will land up even improving your skill.

Most importantly, and the main reason I don't want to get involved in this if it goes the [UZA] {TA}.Nautilian(); route is that clan politics are going to get in the way. You might think not, but trust I have been around long enough to know that it will always come into play, especially if you have clans within a clan. I think that Bio should be the clan leader and TP the commander. Squad leaders must be guys that stay ALIVE and know BF2 inside out.

I quite like this idea. I know there is an issue with vBulletin and creating clan folders which specific forum members only can access, but would it be possible to create a UZA Clan Topic and only allow either UZA members or UZA BF2 clan members in where we can discuss these topics?

Things we need to discuss are:
What mix of squads should we have on which maps: Urban maps would for example require different squad setups than the large maps. Also, which kind of squad will be used for attacking, and which will be used for defending, slowing down the enemy or perhaps just diverting their attention? The one thing I love about BF2 is that the strategic possibilities are endless which makes it more like a chess game. We need a place where we can "safely" discuss these issues.

I think a combined UZA effort is a great idea most clans that do have bf2 players are 2 small to actually have clan matches in anycase as you need 16 people per side for a clan match.

I also believe that everyone here will be more than willing and able to participate in a big overall clan we all have fun on the UT servers together don't we?

Bio I meant that you be appointed as our Team Manager for clan practises and clan matches maybe the guys can start pm'ing you with their details? As for TP he's been for a combined UZA clan for a long time now he just does not have access to uza during the day.

I personally think we need to mix up squads completely as having a helix squad on urban with me TP Radar and Cata would be way over powered matter of fact most of these guys can quite easily be squad leaders to help the new guys with tactics and play dynamics. I mean Flo and Struma are awesome players, you too are a awesome team player. I had a awesome time with your boet over thew weekend too...... but at the end of the day a combined clan is a great idea and I know it will work like clockwork

I bought the game recently - (430MB patch - wtf!) and after doing battle with the frikken usless control setting UI I'm ready to kill people.

This game seems to be a lot more about team work :)

I'm still real noob though - having a hard time telling foe from friend etc.

Just last night I rounded a corner and shot Cataphract in the ass a few times before I realised he was on my team. Luckily I didn't kill him but it couldn't have been fun.

I feel so exposed when I'm running around in these giant maps too - anyway - got access to the BF2 area now - see y'all in there!

I still kill a teammate mistakenly at least once every time I play:( I just get trigger happy sometimes when teh rape is on:P
