so far it looks like most are living out in Milnerton (any of you attend oc at Theo Marais?)

I would venture to say that Theo Marais would be far too big for our purposes - can anyone out there think of a spot where we can put up about 20 - 30 people? PM me the details if youwill and I'll get in touch with whoever is the caretaker and find out what we'll have to pay or do to get the spot for a weekend

any one who have serious problems with getting out to Milnerton also state so we can make a plan - I am sure between the lot of us we can get it together

Xan u slut and we never get to gether I go to Pox's regularly u should come join us m8. I think that could go for all the Local Boykies and girl we would have to check with Pox though. Cripple you slut we should have bumped heads already m8 lets make a plan. May sounds good to me I am sure with the bunch we have here we would be able to get a lan going here of between 20 - 30 players.

When I was in JHB with the last lan what realy worked well was the following:

1.STABLE POWER. (3 Phase power)
2. Setup from 7:00AM to have all running in time, best to have all equipment on Friday helps to get setup going good.
2.Running from Sat morning from 10:00 - Sunday Afternoon 16:00.
3.Lots of beers.
4.Designated admins for setup and equipment, cables etc.
5.Central Location.
6.Good Power leads non of this thin shit.
7.Good Multi plugs.
8.Fair fee.
9.Great attatude and wanting to shoot the shit out of each other. :)

That sounds about right.

I spoke to my wife and went into some tiresome negotiation about the weekend of the 6th. It turns out that I am available for the whole weekend what this means is the following:

I spoke to CrazyChic yesterday and she made a most admirable suggestion why not run the lan from the Friday to the Sunday for those who wish to be complete biltong by the time Monday comes, well I am all for it (the negotiation part) :) . What do u guys think of this a few or all of us could get together at the hall on Friday setup and jam away so that when the rest (if they are not all there on friday) can join us on Sat and then rock through till Sunday to about 12:00pm.

Let me know what you gys think of this I am in that is for sure from Friday afterwork to Sunday 12:00pm. So I hope to see you biatches there and lets get fragging. :instagib:

thanx for the words of welcome guys, like Russian-Bear said, we're not really a formal clan (as in have practice sessions and managers and stuff); just a bunch of friends who found they had a mutual love of gaming. UT (old school) was the game that brought us together, so we've had a love of the series ever since. we're not the world's best players (although there is a plan to remedy that :P ) but we love the game to bits.

and for those of you who asked what GAS stands for, we could tell u the real meaning but then we'd have to kill you!! :D the beauty of the name is that it could also stand for virtually anything you want it to be depending on the situation.

My fave interpretation being Godlike And Superior, or maybe Guns And Shields etc.

The servers (not sure how many) will be running the standard mappacks (CBP etc) and mods. Pretty much the same as the SGS Mod server. Nothing is stopping anyone from running their own server if they have a special mod they want to try out. If there's interest then we can install on the main server.

About the server thing

Chocs said he'll bring the OC game server runs most games. Myself and Chocs both know how to use it pretty well. We ran a UT tam tournament at the last OC with a record 33 entrys. All players agreyed on having the 3 man teams random to give everyone a fair chance and not letting cyghost's boys owning the whole thing again. It came down to cyghost, apokolips and d'rkon vs chuky1, pointblank and airwalk. with cyghost team winning and me coming a close second. the finals were very close with a score of 6 - 8. The winners walk away with R300 and second got R150.

Next month I think we'll do a onslaught and if time a 1 on 1 tournament.

But seriously, I also have UTXMP, Frag-ops, and then there's Carball (dont think it works with current UT versions). Most of these can be started server-side, and the client can update it on-the-fly, without having to manually install it. And with server -lanplay option, it comes down the wire in next-to-no-time!

Yes it is structured and is being run by both myself and Pox when we get closer to the time we will anounce the times for the competition and let you all know. The prizes are not going to be big we have not yet decided on what will be up for grabs, it also tepends on how many ppl come through. We are aiming between 40 - 60 lets see if it all works out.
