Well, and here I was just about to make a post questioning the death of Onslaught. Looks like the old girl has finally given up the fight. It was a good two years though. :)

Yeah ONS did put up a good fight, I doubt that it will die officially, only be less active.

I am also sure that UT07 from the screenies i've seen it's going to be one of the most popular gametypes.

All is not lost, heheh.

Well, and here I was just about to make a post questioning the death of Onslaught. Looks like the old girl has finally given up the fight. It was a good two years though. :)

ONS will make a comeback next month! It will be the new ATDM - the game that everyone loves to hate, and yet is strangely popular at times...

i still cannot BELIEVE that we went through the whole LAN without a single game of ONS.:boohoo: (that i know of)

We had some great onslaught games in the past week.

There were new people giving it a go. Akkedis, Crazychic etc. The TA guys even voted for it. Naut and Divexo plays it very well.

Onslaught is like a bad smell in a drain - you'll never get rid of it! :D

we had some tight ons last night again... My only concern is the EX-parliamentarian with his tank... in the end i got him just b4 the clock ran out...

i said 3vs3 tdm and since i was playing in it, im sure it did happen :/

either way i'll be on the lookout for some bender fun tonight, dont dissappoint girls :)

hehe I guess it was fun when we were all noobs, I can see how the new peeps can strugle. Its not a huge learning curve if your willing to stick with it for a couple of matches, it realy can be epic fun if you have well balanced teams.

You need to learn to dodge jump crazychic.

You dodge when you douple tap a left, right, forwards or backwards key.
If you do that and then hit jump just at the top of the dodge you do a dodge-jump and go a bit further.

Once you've mastered that you can do it when you're running around. e.g. Run forward and then aim slightly left (or right) and dodge jump to the right (or left) - so that you're actually dodge jumping forwards as well. Spectate some people and you'll see what I mean.

Once you've got that figured out it's a bit easier to run around. Then you have to learn to drive all the vehicles, and when you're on foot - learn to use the avril rocket to shoot down other vehicles. You can lock onto vehicles by using alt-fire when the cursor is on them.

Read the sticky ONS megaguide at the top of this thread for more ONS strategy.

It's a lot of fun when you get everything working correctly :)

Ok

I can use the Avril, and drive most of the vehicles

The only thing that is absolutely p off is the dodge thing. I am practising but cannot get it right. Am investing in another game keyboard just to help with the co-ordination. Thanks guys you are all very helpful.

Don't worry - as long as you keep at it it'll become second nature soon enough. Once you've got that down you can start concentrating on killing. :)

As Bio said, feel free to ask if you have any specific questions about the vehicles, weapons or gametype itself!

Sounds like the probability of games happening are high around the following times:

1) between 20:30 and 21:30
2) between 22:30 and 23:30
