View Full Version : Arch-nemesis?

Speaking strictly in terms of the game (so no personal grudges), do you have an arch-nemesis or arch-nemeses? Someone that, if you happen to glance their name in your crosshairs, would make you think twice about your intended avenue of attack?

I have quite a few:

~MA~PeterPan
Somehow it doesn't matter what Pietertjie is doing, I know I have a high likelihood of dying when I go up against him. Really, getting hit by a Goliath while my Manta is airborne is just plain rude!

~MA~L
Dfens is about the only player I know who will detour specifically to pick up some spider mines. And he has good reason to! Many was the time when I died at the hands (or is that feet?) of those mines in Frostbite.

]H[Cataphract
I'm generally ok with facing Katjie, except when he is camping in a Hellbender rear-turret or brandishing a shock-rifle at me. The rear-turret especially is the recipient of my most venomous hate.

]H[TheProven, <A>FluX, <A>Rommel
If they're in a Raptor, I'm dead. They also have the nerve to run me over with the damn thing. So humiliating. :(

<A>BioGizzard, <A>Gizzlo
Like some banned concoction, mixing these two Russians together has explosive results. Matches draw out into titanic struggles, usually decided by overtime victories. And it doesn't help that both of them have vicious, vicious aims.

(The above list is just my personal opinion - please don't take offence if you are not on there. I value each player I play against and have suffered at the hands of many. Besides, if you think you should be on the list you are welcome to join a game and lay the smack down on my biets ass. :))

Honestly speaking, no. Seriously. :D

Unless you count EVERYONE IN MY WAY as an arch-nemesis? :) or perhaps the Goliath? Especially when im being all heroic by venturing into enemy territory on foot only to receive a tank shell in my 'biets ass' :(

My nemisees :) are not people by themselves, but rather people executing certain strategies (with or without vehicles).

Like Cataphract on his hilltop in Torlan (Yes - it's offically known as Cataphract hill!). He drives me dilly! When he starts that hellbender shooty stuff, I want to run up there and make him swallow a flak cannon. And then I want to pull the trigger...

Fortunatley there are not too many of these types of situations :P

My arch nemesis is onslaught.

I used to play it i the demo days, and even had visions of ONLY playing onslaught because i loved it so much, thinking of making an ons only clan. Then the game hit the shelves ,and the "popular" gametypes got played 90% of the time, and the only time ons seemed to get played was when I was offline (normall late at night, past my bedtime). I decided to give it a go a few times since, but the skill of the players, and their knowledge of the maps and vehcles has LONG surpassed mine, making my "comeback' to onslaught but a dream :(

Maybe UT2007 will even the playing fields and bring popularity to a gametype that offers so much more dynamic gameplay than your run of the mill DM's.

Having a noob team mate kind of does it for me. No matter what you do at the level of skill on the servers at the moment one player makes a world of differance.

When you do get time, let me know. Your considerable experience with DM and CTF have already given you a solid aim and thourough knowledge of all the weapons.

All that remains now is to learn the vehicles and how everything comes together in Onslaught - by no means an impossible task. :)
