How does say a razer mouse improve your UT game?
Im just wondering if it has any real benefit.
Thanks,
Syzygy
A good mouse is essential for improving your game.

Syzygy, I have bought the Razor Copperhead and were very impressed with the look, feel, the ability to switch to different profiles to suit the environment you are working in at the time (Eg. 2000dpi, 1000Hz in UT and 800dpi, 500Hz in Windoze Apps) and most importantly the laser is always on and response is fast. It tracks very nicely. You set the sensitivity you like best. You have to tweak your user.ini a bit to get the best setting, but to me, worth every R. It definitely made an improvement in my game although as you know a mouse alone won't let you win games. My Toppie fingers sometimes get's a bit stiff and then I feel OldAndSlow :)

hehe, thx for the advice Erad.
What is the best mouse for gaming?
Logitech G5 (and dont let anybody tell you otherwise:P Logitech > All)
I own a Logitech MX518.
Then recently bought the Razer Copperhead. Next day packed up the Razer and returned it.
At the end of the day boils down to personal preference.

Yo...I have had all the Logitech's....I got a Razor bout 8 months ago..hated it at 1st... but i persisted ...after a while u call see and feel the difference... and now I regard it as the best gaming mouse there is and it improved my CSS game a great deal ( I suck at UT so that couldn't be a benchmark)
Thing is Razor only make gaming mouses, get one, you wont be sorry.
Ive had a
Logitech Dual Optic (http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/logitech_mouseman_dualoptical/index.shtml)
for the last 3-4 years and its a part of me:P

Yip Yip, the Logitech!
I've got a Logitech MX500. It's a good mouse. Not as high spec as some of the mice I see you guys have. But for me it does the job.
A mate of mine has an old Razor Boomslang. It still goes. He's had the thing for at least 7 - 8 years. Can't argue the quality.
Have one myself...never been used:P

For sure. Also felt a bit ripped when i got my diamondback, but i stuck it out. The elegant shape and smooth finish makes the mouse for me. I dont think I could go back to logitechs chunky feel after.
To each their own though :)

Has your mouse ever gotten "disoriented" during play? i.e. You find yourself upside down when you were actually trying to do a 180.
That's because the sensor on most ordinary mice are not designed to handle the "stress" of such rapid movement. That was the main reason I got a better mouse.
As for the Razer VS. Logitech debate. In my opinion you'll always develop a liking for what you first had. Apart from that, if you're left-handed don't even bother with Logitech. The symmetrical design of Razer mice will do better.

for sure igloo. However, I must disagree on the "what you went for first" as I used to use microsoft (ew) then i went to logitec dual eye, then the mx500, THEN i got my razer, and have loved it ever since. However, from what I understand the inside of the 2 mice are virtualy the same, so its more a cosmetic thing, as you have mentioned :)

I did fing the scroll type buttons on the RHS annoying..so i cut small pieces of cable ties and heat moulded them in the grooves so that they were vas gejam. couldnt figure out how to disable them..:)
with the the primary and secondary fire buttons it is so spot on and no lag whatsoever makes for deadly accurate shooting.

the easy way would be to open the mouse and remove the little pin on the bottom of the button. that way your mouse still looks like it was intended to :)
lots of ppl would say it's the tool that makes the tradesman but i feel it's the otherway around, beacause only experiance and skill makes the tool usefull in the first place.
when i buy stuff like a mouse i buy what i like or what feels good in my hand.
the rest comes with practice, practice, practice.
Well let's see, I for one dislike the Razorback's shape.. for the rest the mouse feels nice , but my hand.. cramps when I play with it, but this mx510 feels soo good in your hand, and what feels even better to me is the mx1000's shape, pity it's wireless... anything from a logitech mx500 and up is good enough for gaming
