View Full Version : Mini ONS Ladder - Match detail planning
Holy cow - looks like we have 20 games to go through if my workings are correct? (So much for mini ladder :P )
10 per map, since each team plays every other team.
So the matches look as follows - if each team needs to play each other.
1 v 2
1 v 3
1 v 4
1 v 5
2 v 3
2 v 4
2 v 5
3 v 4
3 v 5
4 v 5
It might be best to play both maps when a team has a match up - that would - would limit it to 10 sessions?
Questions:
- both maps in one session ok with everyone?
- Any times you can't play?
(e.g. darkangle said not during the week unless it's early)

I'm good with playing both maps in one session.
I'm usually good to go after 21:30 but can make it earlier depending on the day.
So when is the scheduled date to start.
Ps: Sneaky and Lord Zan , I know you guys are good at ONS , since I dont play ONS so much - Shall we schedule a private training sesh so we can biff up and be prepared ?
Please post the rules, I need to study them in order to exploit them:D
21:30 onwards should be fine, weekends or Monday nights could be a problem.
Right , how about tonight at 9ish ?
I'll be online ingame from about that time onwards.
Cya there if you both can make it.

i'm available any time, gizzlo is not available on tuesdays and thursdays
Will try organise each future weeks match during the current week.
Going from past ONS games most people are available on Sundays - but anytime during the week is fine as well.
I would like to kick off the following week - so our schedule is as follows:
Matches between 17 to 23 Oct
1v2
4v5
24 to 30 Oct
1v3
2v5
31 Oct to 6 Nov
1v5
3v4
7 to 13 Nov
1v4
2v3
14 to 20 Nov
2v4
3v5
I'd like everyone to confirm that they can make it for a particular date/time ahead of the game. At least that way we know everyone is in the loop.
I'll start a new thread for next weeks games.
We've got the MOD server and the other one - can it still do ONS? That way we don't have to worry if the game times overlap at all.
Rules are - get in there and kick butt!
(also - if this works - min 3 peeps per team, so if someone gets disconnected a bot jumps into their place?)
Another thing I've been thinking of, since this is mostly for fun - if a team is missing 1 person for a match they can substitute another person if there is one available. Am I nuts or would that be OK?
This way - everyone should be in the loop with regards to game date/time and even if we are missing someone we can get a subsititute.
Anyone think of anything else we need?
I think the bot idea would work, if another person does join , would the bot then leave the game?
I also agree that a substitution would be fine as sometimes things happen unexpectedly and people cant make it , that would assist overall.
There would need to be a rule in place for the amount of times that a substitution is allowed and if there will be any penalties if a team does make a substitution.
I suggest a minus scoring penalty and only one substitution through out the tourney , any suggestions/comments ?
These are mainly just fun matches - so I don't think we need a substitution penatly. Only rule is you can only use it if 2 of the original members are present (i.e. you can only substitute one person if he is missing.)

Ok, i did not read all the posts here, but the bot idea did not and will not work imo. They are stupid, vehicle camping, stupid, stupid bots that makes everything unbalanced. Just my 2c. Keep it straight and simple. No bots, no rules, just the one team vs the other team. If a player drops, too bad.
Just my 3c

lol, not really. Just saw some poor souls and spectated alotta bots...
:
We can ignore the bot thing then. It'll be eaiser on us too since we won't need any specific server setup.

Bots suck and they are difficult to admin.
